Happy 92nd Birthday to Christopher Lee, a True Genius of the Macabre

Hey guys! The 100th post is coming along well...we have some big things in store!

A truly awesome actor is celebrating his fantabulous 92nd birthday...his name is...

CHRISTOPHER LEE!

To celebrate, let's countdown three AWESOME moments from Chris! Of course there are MANY awesome roles, but here are a choice few!

I.
The Wicker Man
No comment needed.

Arguably the most famous film Christopher Lee was ever in. He plays Lord Summerisle, who leads a cult on the remote island of the same name. The cult eventually burns the protagonist, Sergeant Howie (Edward Woodward). The film ends with a poignant moment of bravery.

"Sumer is icumen in,
Lhude sing, cuccu;
Groweth sed
and bloweth med,
And springth the wode nu;
Sing, cuccu!"

II.
The Lord of the Rings
Wow! It's looking at this that makes me realized how much Game of Thrones rips off is "inspired."

Here we see Lee in his creepy performance as Tolkien's Saruman, a powerful wizard and the embassy of the prime antagonist, Sauron.

Sauron looks pretty freakin' awesome.

He basically stands in for Sauron until he's impaled while falling from the tower of Orthanc in the second film, The Two Towers.

Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey, and Chris as Saruman. While I love Gandalf, that staff that Saruman is holding is AWESOME.

III.
Dracula
...they had to include a scantily clad woman, didn't they? [sigh]

Back in the good ol' Hammer days, Christopher Lee was the choice antagonist against (usual) hero Peter Cushing. But never was there a more deft battle of the famous two than in this.

Those eyes...

This has been called the most satisfying adaptation EVER by fans of Bram Stoker AND critics. And the performance Chris delivers is ASTOUNDING.

Hey Guys...

Hi guys - Brian here.
I just want to apologize for the slow rate of posts on this blog. I wish we'd have had something up for Walpurgisnacht but it was impossible at the time. I've been so busy with the film that it hasn't left too much free time for me. Mike Dalager has brought some very serious errors to light and I will probably only have a few up for a while. If it helps, I'm gonna set a goal for at least one post per a week. Thanks for understanding.
BRIAN
P.S. Wordpress is WAY more efficient for me than Blogger, but I'm not gonna abandon this site anytime soon.
